In 1994, Tom Rice, with the fabled 101st Airborne jumped onto Normandy on D-Day along with thousands of other allied soldiers. Many men did not survive. 75 years later, Mr. Rice once again hooked up his parachute and jumped onto Normandy, this time with about a hundred other souls there to mark the occasion, and several thousand onlookers there to greet them below. This was part of a ceremony held at Normandy to remember the sacrifice made by the brave allied soldiers 75 years ago to liberate France and Europe from tyranny.

Mr. Rice was a member of the 101st Airborne’s 501 division which was responsible for securing a landing strip and equipment to assist with the allied push into France.
